Reserving a Tortoise
How it works
To reserve a tortoise, a non-refundable deposit is required. A deposit will guarantee you a tortoise and must be picked up on an agreeable date.
All deposits are non-refundable & non-transferable

Health Guarantee
Our policy
We guarantee that there are no symptoms of disease or parasites at the time of sale and that all our tortoises are completely healthy. This means that our tortoises are free of viral infections, pathogenic bacterial infections, fungal infections, and congenital defects. When a customer purchases a tortoise from us, we provide our customers a 4-days health guarantee. Within the first 4-days of the purchase, customers are encouraged to take their tortoise to a veterinarian. If the veterinarian states that the tortoise was Unfit for sale (not healthy), a certificate/paperwork must be presented to JC Exotic Pets (JC PETS LLC) within 24 hours of the exam for exchange or full refund (minus the shipping cost) if applicable. In addition, proof of correct habitat with photos of the habitat, the heating element, UV light, proper substrate and food/water access must also be provided with the veterinarian paperwork.
In the event buyer fails to have their tortoise examined by an avian veterinarian within a 4-day period after pickup or delivery, then the buyer understands and agrees that the sale is final and there is no guarantee/refunds anymore.
JC Aviary is NOT responsible for any vet fees.
Shipping & Delivery
How it works
We take care of all the shipping arrangements for our customers.
Here are two options we offer shipping our reptiles (weather permitting):

Shipping via Delta Airlines:
We take care of all the flight/shipping arrangements for all our customers. All you have to do is pick up your tortoise at your nearest airport on the same day within 3 to 6 hrs. Simple and Safe!
We will coordinate flight times with our customers a few days in advance before your tortoise is shipped (weather permitting). The customer is supplied with the airline, flight number(s), air waybill/tracking number, and flight arrival time prior to departure. It is recommended that the customer arrives at the airport no later than the expected flight arrival time so that your tortoise is not waiting at the airport.
We will contact our customer once again on the day of shipment before your tortoise departures from our facility. A return call, text, or e-mail to JC Exotic Pets (JC PETS LLC) letting us know that the your tortoise arrived safely is greatly appreciated.
Shipping is an additional $185 nationwide & up (U.S only) via airline + airline-approved shipping crate ($65 - $125)
Any tortoise that leaves our facility must be paid in full before the tortoise is shipped.
We offer to ship within the U.S only. We do NOT offer international shipping.
Texas locals must come and pick up! (See local pick-up policy below)

Shipping via UPS or FED-Ex Overnight:
We ship Monday thru Wednesday via UPS or Fed-Ex Overnight. Meaning, when we schedule shipping with you and it ships (leaves our facility), you get it overnight. This is in no way means if you order today you get it tomorrow.
We will coordinate shipping time/day with our customers a few days in advance before your tortoise is shipped (weather permitting). Our customers are supplied with a tracking number via Fed-Ex or UPS Overnight prior to departure. Once arrived, customer signature is required at the time of the delivery. Live Animals shipped via UPS or Fed-EX normally arrive before noon at the provided address by the customer.
As always, buy with confidence. Your tortoise will arrive well packaged and insulated with heat or cold packs added as needed to provide a safe reliable trip from our facility to your home or business. We ship year-round to all states.
Payment Options
A few options....
We accept cash, PayPal, Zelle, checks, money orders, or direct deposits. Any transaction fees incurred will be added to the TOTAL sales price. If paying via check or money order, please give us 3-5 business days for the check to clear out before a tortoise can be released to a customer. Customers are responsible for any/all transaction fees.
Prices of tortoises are subject to change depending on season and availability.
Local Pick-up (Texas)
Our policy
Please bring cash with you on the day of pick up.
We must reserve time for everyday tortoise maintenance. As a result, all customers must call or email us the day before the pick-up date to schedule an appointment with us. With our busy schedule, our pick-up date could change (very rarely). Therefore, a customer must set up an appointment with us a day in advance to confirm our meeting schedule for the next day.

Purchases made within the state of Texas will be charged with sales tax.
